Frequently Asked Questions
The staff at Child Crisis Network are often asked about
various aspects of the project. This FAQ is designed to address some of
the popular questions we are asked. If you have a specific question not
answered here, be sure to send us an e-mail!
How Can I Contact Various Agencies?
Not all agencies have access to e-mail. If an agency does have e-mail,
you can find it directly on their home page. If not, all agencies can
be reached by telephone. At one point in time all missing children
agencies in Canada were represented, free of charge, through Child
Crisis Network
. However, upon receiving charitable status many organizations
requested that any and all reference to them be removed from this website.
It is a definite loss to those searching for missing children, however,
should you wish to contact any of these organizations, most of them
now have their own websites.

Can I Add a Link to Child Crisis Network?
You sure can! While not mandatory, we would love to hear from you if
you are considering a link. To make it easy for you to link your site,
check out our Donate a Link page.
How Does a Case Get On-Line?
When a child is reported missing, the information is made available
to a local police force, typically in the community where the child
is missing from. A local search is conducted, and this search will extend
out to neighboring communities, and from there to the provincial, national,
and lastly international level. It is up to parents and police officers
to contact Child Crisis Network with new case information. In addition,
volunteers at Child Crisis Network are constantly surfing the internet
offering assistance to parents, police officers and others searching
for missing loved ones.
My Child is Missing, Can Child Crisis Network Provide a Link to
My Page?
We want to help you, and the best way for us to do this is for you
to inform your investigating officer of Child Crisis Network. They can
then notify Child Crisis Network and we will enter the case into
the on-line database. The reasoning behind this protocol is to ensure
that the accuracy of the on-line database. Also, by going through your
local authorities, we are able to ensure that everyone who is looking
for your child is notified of all search efforts being undertaken.
I Need Statistics on Missing Children
The RCMP publishes an
annual
report outlining missing children statistics for Canada.
Can I Volunteer My Time With Child Crisis Network?
You bet! We are looking for people to help distribute flyers and posters
at libraries, computer stores, schools, trade shows, the list goes on!
The posters explain the web site, and how to access it.
